It’s a Jungle Out There

After a day at the zoo I felt like I had a crash course in lighting control and how to dial in the correct exposure in my camera. It was a mix of low light, shadows, bright sun and dappled light through out the zoo. It was great to experiment with the camera and see how using the exposure triangle of ISO, aperture, and shutter speed in a real world situation really impacts your photos. There was never a lack of subjects and the advice to move around struck home. While there is nothing you can really do to avoid the fencing that surrounds most of the enclosures moving around gave the best chance of catching the right shot at the right moment.
